How the CRS score works
The Comprehensive Ranking System ranks Express Entry profiles. Under the current rules a profile can score up to 1,200 points across four sections. Many values depend on whether an accompanying spouse or common-law partner who is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident is included, so the table gives both: without / with.

What changes on November 3, 2026
IRCC announced in October 2026 that the core Canadian work experience factor will be replaced by a Labour Market Integration factor from November 3, 2026. The other sections keep their current values.
- Canadian work experience keeps the same work-length points (up to 80, or 70 with an accompanying spouse or partner), now counted inside the new factor.
- At least 12 months of skilled Canadian work in the last 10 years in high-wage occupations adds supplementary points by wage tier.
- A qualifying job offer in a high-wage occupation earns points by wage tier. It is an alternative to the work experience points: the option that gives more points counts, and the two are not combined.
- The factor is capped at 150 points, or 140 with an accompanying spouse or partner.
| Wage tier | High-wage experience (12+ months) | Job offer |
|---|---|---|
| 1.3x or more | +20 | 50 |
| 1.5x or more | +40 | 70 |
| 2x or more | +70 | 100 |
The wage tiers compare an occupation’s median wage with the average median wage; IRCC lists the occupations on its high-wage occupations page (opens in a new tab).
These values follow IRCC’sannouncement (opens in a new tab). DrawRelay’s “From Nov 3, 2026” totals are estimates until IRCC’s own CRS tool reflects the new grid. How both versions are modelled: methodology.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good CRS score?
There is no pass mark. In each round, IRCC invites the highest-ranked profiles that are eligible for that round, and the cutoff is the lowest score invited, so what counts as competitive depends on the round type. The three most recent rounds other than Provincial Nominee Program rounds had cutoffs of 407 (French-language proficiency, Oct 27, 2026), 519 (Canadian Experience Class, Oct 15, 2026) and 476 (Trade occupations, Oct 1, 2026). Provincial Nominee Program cutoffs are higher because a nomination adds 600 points. The gap table in the calculator compares your score with the latest cutoff in each category.
How do I calculate my CRS score?
Enter your age, education, official language test results, skilled work experience and any additional factors such as a provincial nomination or a sibling in Canada. Each test score is converted to a CLB or NCLC level ability by ability, and points are added across four sections: core human capital (up to 500, or 460 with an accompanying spouse or partner), spouse or partner factors (up to 40), skill transferability (up to 100) and additional points (up to 600). The calculator on this page does this under both the current rules and the November 3, 2026 rules.
How many CRS points is CLB 9?
Under the current grid, CLB 9 in an ability of your first official language is worth 31 points, or 29 with an accompanying spouse or partner, so CLB 9 in all four abilities gives 124 core points (116 with a spouse or partner). CLB 9 in all four abilities also unlocks the higher tier of the skill transferability combinations with education and with foreign work experience, each group capped at 50 points. In DrawRelay’s model of the November 3, 2026 grid, language points are unchanged.
Does a job offer give CRS points in 2026?
Under the current rules, no: job offer points were removed from the CRS on March 25, 2025. From November 3, 2026, a qualifying job offer in a high-wage occupation earns points within the new Labour Market Integration factor: 50, 70 or 100 points for an occupation at the 1.3x, 1.5x or 2x wage tier. These points are an alternative to the Canadian work experience points in the same factor; the higher option counts. DrawRelay labels these values as estimates until IRCC’s own CRS tool reflects them.
How much does French add to a CRS score?
NCLC 7 or higher in all four French abilities adds 50 additional points when English is at CLB 5 or higher in all four abilities, or 25 points otherwise. French as a second official language can also add up to 24 core points (22 with an accompanying spouse or partner). IRCC also holds French-language proficiency rounds; the latest, on Oct 27, 2026, had a cutoff of 407.
What is the maximum CRS score?
Under the current rules the maximum is 1,200: up to 600 from core human capital, spouse or partner and skill transferability factors combined, plus up to 600 additional points. From November 3, 2026, the Labour Market Integration factor (up to 150 points) takes the place of core Canadian work experience (up to 80 points). In DrawRelay’s estimate of the new grid the section maximums add up to 1,270; this figure will be checked against IRCC’s tool once it reflects the new grid.
Why are my two totals different, or the same?
The two totals differ only through the Labour Market Integration factor. Work-length points for Canadian experience keep the same values in both grids, so a profile without high-wage Canadian experience or a qualifying high-wage job offer usually has the same total before and from November 3, 2026.
Is this the same as IRCC’s CRS tool?
No. DrawRelay is an independent calculator that applies the points grid IRCC publishes; it is not affiliated with IRCC. Only the score shown in your Express Entry profile is used for invitations. IRCC publishes the full grid on its CRS criteria page.
